We seek an empathetic and respectful, community-minded leader who has proven problem-solving skills. Our school is experiencing an exciting period of growth and change, and we are looking for someone who can lead us through the opportunities in front of us with energy and knowledge to create a positive, safe, and happy school. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into a principal role, or to grow as a principal.

As this is a teaching principal position, you will be an organised and professional team player with excellent communication skills, able to provide our staff with affirming, unifying leadership. You will have 0.3 principal release initially, and will need to work closely with your release teacher to ensure the best outcomes for the students in your class. As a teacher, you must have the ability to provide our students with quality teaching and learning.

Knowledge of Te Reo Māori is important and a knowledge of Montessori philosophy would be an advantage.

We are a state school offering two learning pathways – the mainstream, Pakiri Pathway and the Montessori Pathway – providing a unique learning environment.

Our school is a small rural school, running from Y1–8 with a strong and proud Māori culture and heritage. We are situated near world-class beaches and native bush with natural resources on our doorstep.

You will be working with a passionate and supportive Board and community.

A school house may be available.
